With a 3.x owned license (and any official add-ons) you can run the software forever - that doesn't end. The listed expiration, or "Inactive" status, is for your access to the download new versions from the Members Area. You will be able to continue to run the version of vB that existed when your license expired for as long as you want.
If you want to download newer versions though, you will need to upgrade the license.
